The most important component of patient immobilization is the thermoplastic mask. The superior properties of Efficast thermoplastic pre-cuts assure an easy, comfortable and precise mask-making process.

Our thermoplastic masks with push-pin type profiles fit seamlessly on existing hardware that you may have in your department.

Orfit also offers smaller mask sizes and sticker kits to help ease anxiety for children undergoing treatment and potentially reduce the need for anesthesia. Helping you to go the extra mile to support your younger patients means everything to us.

The full range of products for pediatric patients contains base plates, head supports, and thermoplastic masks and can be used for patients up to 12 years old.

We suggest using the small masks for patients between 0 and 5 years old and the medium masks for patients from 6 to 12 years old. Based on the anatomy of the patient, a larger or smaller mask might be needed.

The benefit of this line of immobilization masks is that the unique thermoplastic material provides superior bending capabilities with low shrinkage and a water-based, non-stick coating. UON and DUON are also available as an open face mask to fit almost any U-frame or S-frame base plate in the department.

U/S-shaped frame

UON and DUON U-Shaped Head and neck masks and Duon S-Shaped Head, neck and shoulders masks combine the unique features of U-Plast thermoplastic material with a newly designed U- and S-shaped frame that is stronger with an improved bending stiffness. This leads to a more sturdy mask.

T-shaped pins

New T-shaped pins in DUON increase user friendliness in that they are more easy to attach to and release from a base plate. The pins are available as a separate item so they can easily be replaced when necessary.

Non-stick coating

Each mask is also treated with a unique water-based, non-stick coating, which ensures a much more comfortable patient experience.

Thermoplastic properties

UON and DUON masks are highly reliable with very low shrinkage, which means they are very accurate and easy to use, helping to support increased patient throughput.

The masks mold at 65°C – 70°C (149°F – 158°F) and can immediately be placed on the patient’s face after they are towel dried for additional patient comfort and faster treatment set-up.

Compatibility

The new UON and DUON masks are compatible for use with virtually all base plates, regardless of manufacturer. Orfit also offers a full range of carbon fiber laminate and high density plates and couch extensions for use with UON and DUON.
