These BLOCKS & WEDGES HIGH DENSITY are a part of the “AIO SOLUTION SETS”. They are used in combination with the cushions from these sets, THE AIO SOLUTION BASE PLATES and the EFFICAST PRE-CUTS to form a reproducible patient positioning and immobilisation system. The blocks and the wedges offer, together with the head supports, the opportunity to position the patient’s head at various heights and with a range of extension or flexion angles.

The different parts of this set can be stacked and fit perfectly into one another thanks to the combination of complementary holes and positioning knobs. Always verify that the devices are positioned correctly on the other cushions and parts.

This product is MRI-safe.

Physical Properties

The following physical properties apply to these devices:

Material: Rigid PE
Density: High
Interface: Round
Dimensions: L 230 x W 120 x H 25 mm to 88 mm
Weight: 0.57 kg –  1.30 kg

Mechanical Properties

These devices are made of stiff PE. Because of this these devices have a very good dimensional stability. The devices used on the treatment machines are often used more frequently than those on the simulators and during the imaging stages. We therefore recommend rotating the sets between the different machines on a regular base to avoid differences in wear and tear of these devices.

Dosimetric Properties

These head supports are made of low density foam that has the following dosimetric properties per cm of material through which the beam passes:

Attenuation (± 0.15%)

6 MV 15 MV
4% - 17% 3% - 13.5%

Note: Use these numbers as a guidance only. Perform the measurements again in your department to verify these results.
